Outdoor Bleacher Maintenance

Bleachers that are outside are susceptible to corrosion, weathering, abuse and simple wear and tear.  Because of this it is important for school districts to conduct regularly scheduled inspections to determine if any maintenance needs to take place. Regular outdoor bleacher and grandstand inspections are encouraged and even required in some states.

There are many important safety and liability issues associated with the upkeep of bleacher and grandstand systems.  Some of the key areas of focus should be the foundation, understructure, bolt connections, bracing, foot boards, seat boards, and fencing.
